The Team
Rowena Eng
Rowena is specializing in Corporate Environmental Management with a focus in Strategic Communication. Rowena is passionate about using her multidisciplinary expertise including her background in marine science and healthcare, to help future-proof organizations under a resource-constrained world. Outside of her studies she enjoys water sports, kickboxing, cooking, and searching for good Asian food around Goleta. She also is an avid backpacker and has traveled in SE Asia and South America.
Zhiqi Qi
Qi graduated from Beijing University of Technology with a Bachelor of Engineering in Water Supply and Drainage. After graduating he enrolled directly to the Bren School. As a second-year student, Qi specializes in Pollution Prevention and Remediation. He is interested in combining data analysis with water consumption in many fields to efficiently reduce portable-water usage and improve water quality.
Erika Petroy
At the Bren School, Erika is pursuing a specialization in Corporate Environmental Management with a focus in Strategic Communication. Post-graduation, she hopes to use a data-driven approach to improve the role corporations play as environmental ambassadors and leaders. In her spare time she enjoys rock climbing, yoga, and dog watching.
Jonny McKoy
Jonny is specializing in Economics and Politics of the Environment. A native of Chicago and a University of Illinois alum, Jonny's research primarily focuses on equity and sustainability. Once finished with his education he hopes to move back to Chicago and work on environmental justice issues in the city. He enjoys playing Civ, and ultimate frisbee in his free time.
Zhiping Bao
Zhiping graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.S. in Environmental Studies. As a fisherman, he is interested in both water conservation and providing environmental flow to wildlife. After graduation he went directly to graduate school at the Bren School where he is pursuing his master's degree specializing in Water Resources Management. He hopes to bring different water use stakeholders together to maximize water use efficiency.
Uni
Uni brings to the team his strong and boundless amounts of energy. Morale is always on the up when Uni is in the Next Gen office!
